3P Gulf Packaging headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is one of the biggest stretch film manufacturers in the MENA – and a partner of SML since 1992. Today, the group is substantially expanding its capacities for premium stretch wrap film with a new Powercast XL 4.5 m line and a SmartCast 3 m line.

“We supply stretch wrap film in premium quality to customers all over Europe. In order for us, to continuously expand our business at a global scale and to ensure the high quality of our film, we buy machinery from the world market leader in stretch film machinery,” describes Ali Hashim, the founder of 3P Gulf Group, behind his motivations to invest in a new SML PowerCast XL and a SmartCast line.

The new PowerCast line will be set up at a 3P site in Rabigh, increasing the stretch film capacity of 3P in Saudi Arabia to 90.000 tons per year. “Our PowerCast is an ultra-high-performance stretch film extrusion line that is perfectly suited to this market’s needs in terms of quality and quantity. It stands out due to their unrivalled flexibility in production and ability to handle all common film widths,” says Christian Malzner, Sales Manager at SML.

At the site 3P Gulf Groups sister company, Gulf Manufacturers based in 6th October City in Egypt, the new SmartCast line of the group will be installed, expanding the capacity of this site to 50.000 tons of premium stretch film per year. The 3 m wide SmartCast line offers an optimum combination of high output and maximum flexibility. One of its highlights is its chill roll unit with positioning system. This makes the casting position 100 % reproducible, guaranteeing that all the process parameters can be repeated to perfection at all times.
